This is the blog for my new monthly radio show that I produce for Brighton community radio station RadioReverb 97.2FM.
Writers’ Hub is all about getting writing out of the ghetto – I interview local novelists and playwrights, event organisers and writer wannabes, plus I feature real writing from real local people and extracts from books written by people who might live round the corner from you – Brighton’s that small, most places practically are.
The show consists of interviews, published works extracts, original writing submissions based on monthly themes, news and opportunity round up, and a bit of music.
I interview guests with my co-presenter Tara Gould, pre-recording all material at Radio Reverb’s studios on North Street. I then later edit and produce the show on my laptop using a free version of Audacity.
This show receives no funding or income stream – I pay 10 pounds per show to Radio Reverb, who are largely voluntary themselves, for their generous support and administration.
Submissions
I’m always looking for people to interview, books to read extracts from, and original writing to present. So if you have any of the above, please get in touch. I’m currently making a bank of stories, poems and other writing so if you’d like to contribute, I’d love to hear from you.
Email me on amy (at)amyriley.com or if you want to record your piece yourself, send me the track using the Soundcloud drop box http://soundcloud.com/miss_scribbler/dropbox
Please be patient if I don’t reply straight away – I do this show outside of a full-time job and a hundred other projects on top of that. If a few weeks have gone by, do get in touch with me again – I’m sure I’ll be thankful you did.
